Earlier yesterday we've posted a news link article on our facebook and google+ about the town, Jingdezhen. A thriving Chinese River Town in the arts of Ancient Porcelain. A rival of the ancient export, silk.

Now, china's been well known for its immense influence in the art of Porcelain. From the Theracota Warrior to the £53m Chinese Vase. So it may not be a surprise to many as well that our Founder, Mr. Hu Shen Cheng also originate from Jingdezhen.

Mr.Hu comes to Sabah to create a new revolution of a sort in the porcelain scene. As he sees it, the market and opportunity for growth of porcelain in Sabah are plenty.

Of course, the growth wouldn't be able to rival those in Jingdezhen. However, he aims to kickstart a porcelain spark in the local to pick up the interest in pottery making itself.

Ever since the opening of Sabah Pottery Studio, Mr. Hu has organized several trips to school around Kota Kinabalu. The studio even went as far as Telipok.

Jingdezhen itself held special privileges as Ceramic and Porcelain Culture resource is rich in the area.

It is estimated that the ecological environment in Jingdezhen is abundant in resources for making porcelain for the next 300 years. Main minerals such as Kaolin coal, gold dust, limestone, sulfur, porcelain stone and so much more is in abundance. Kaolin especially is in abundance and is verified to be able to be exploited for over 300 years.

Mr.Hu longs to see the booming expansion of Porcelain Culture in East Malaysia just as it did in Jingdezhen. Being born there, it is completely within his understanding to adapt and shape the culture from his hometown with the culture here in the East.

“I have now met a lot of people who have gone home,” Ms. Cheng said. “I really don’t encourage people to stay in Jingdezhen forever. It’s good that they go home. They can teach others what they’ve learned here.”
Quoted from the article in NYTimes that we posted on our social media yesterday.

It is Mr.Hu's massive undertaking to expand the porcelain scene in Sabah, making it into a little Jingdezhen. Sticking to the principle of not staying in Jingdezhen forever, but to go out there and teach others of the wonder and culture from his hometown.
